General Guidelines

UK Coronavirus Government Guidelines

  • Help prevent the spread of COVID-19 by staying at home, protect the NHS and save lives. Staying at home will mean you avoid contact with carriers of the virus. Washing hands for at least 20 seconds will neutralise the virus. Practise constant hand washing. Try to avoid touching your face and wear a face mask to stop unconscious touching of your mouth and eyes. Practice social distancing by always being a minimum of 2 metres apart from others.
  • Make sure to clean surfaces with soap and water, and then disinfect with a household disinfectant.
  • Practice everyday preventive actions to help keep yourself healthy, reduce exposures to COVID19, and slow the spread of the disease.

Using Steamers to Combat COVID-19

Staying safe at the moment is our number one priority. We need to take extra steps to be precautious to stop the spread of COVID-19. Studies are showing that Coronavirus can live for a few days on surfaces and fabrics.

The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) has recommended that all clothing that is worn outside should be removed when you get home and immediately washed in a washing machine.

However, there are certain clothes that cannot be washed in a washing machine. When the dry cleaners are closed, we will need to sanitise the clothes we wear regularly.

Tests have shown that steam can kill 99.9% of bacteria, germs and viruses. Clothes steamers emit hot powerful steam which can kill and neutralise germs.

On the NHS website, they have confirmed:

“Steam cleaning is effective against germs”

Steam penetrates the fibres and inner layers of fabrics to deeply sanitise and kill viruses and bacteria. Please practise constant steaming of coats, jackets, suits, hats, wool jumpers and other clothes which cannot be cleaned in the washing machine.
