On Friday 31st October 2014 at 8 am, the iconic Eiffel Tower was transformed into a catwalk for the first time in history, and we were happy to provide the garment care. We know what you’re thinking, yes, it was cold.
The Eiffel Tower Catwalk Show was born from Jessica Minh Anh (J Model Management), a girl who had the balls to put up catwalk shows in some of the most ambitious places on the planet including the Grand Canyon Skywalk at 4000 feet above the Colorado river, One World Trade Center and London’s Tower Bridge.
If you see her walking down the street, this is what she looks like.
After a brisk drive from Hackney to Paris, we arrived to a sunny Eiffel Tower. Although we thought we were 15 minutes late, the fabulous lift at the Eiffel Tower meant we got a few minutes to hang out and take it all in. It’s pretty nice on the eye…
We were ushered upstairs with a harem of dressers and boxes and boxes of clothes. The show and the prep area was on the first floor.
The sun started to fall and the job infront looked immense. Boxes and boxes of clothes. The designers showing were from 11 countries all over the world, and I’m pretty sure they’d all be sent over in these cardboard boxes, so they needed a good steam! So we got to work.
The dressers were awesome, mostly from Glasgow funnily enough. For a few hours we got through the piles / boxes of clothes.
We managed to leave them to it for a bit and take some photos off the Eiffel Tower. For those of you who haven’t been lucky enough to visit, it’s worth a peek. Here’s some pics for, hope we didn’t kill your data allowance.

We finished the garment care by the end of the evening and got a relatively early night, it was a six o’clock am call time. Better than 4 o’clock call time the dressers had…
We arrived just as the sun was coming up. I’d never been up that early at the Eiffel Tower (obvs), they played weird French music out of huge speakers and have glittery lights, was quite surreal. Especially after three coffees.
They’d tarted up upstairs since the early hours of the morning.
Backstage everything was heating up too, the clothes had their final touches as the models were going through hair and make up. This isn’t the world’s best photo, but the steamer looks happy.
By 8 am, the Eiffel Tower was ready for it’s first ever fashion catwalk event. The press was there and everyone was ready!
One of the event’s sponsors was Dyson, so they had some heater to keep us cosy. Cheers Dyson!
And it began… fashion!
The show went on as the sun came up, and to be honest it the timing couldn’t have been better. It was quite spectacular.
We packed up our steamers and head back to London. Thanks to all those at J Model Management, this image will stay in our minds forever.
